Advanced Effect Maker - Screensaver Settings Dialog

Advanced Effect Maker is from version 1.5 able to create Screensaver effects of your Flash applets. You will now be able to create your own customized screensavers with maybe your own company logo or your family's pictures! You have to enable this feature in the Screensaver Settings dialog. When you do, each time you press on "Create Applet", a screensaver file (a .scr or .exe file) will be generated along with your SWF file in your project folder.

Click on the "Tools" and then "Screensaver..." in the program menu in order to display this dialog:

You enable the Screensaver generation feature by just checking the "Create Screensaver each time ..." checkbox. Once you do this, the screensaver files will be created into the project folder, each time you press on "Create Applet".

Note! The screensaver file will have the same name as the applet filename and be located at the same location as the SWF file (in the project folder).

We recommend that you use BIG applet sizes for creating these screensavers. At least 640x480 and up. Slide shows as screensavers should use images of at least this size as well. You will also have to increase the Font size if the applet supports that.

The screensaver extension will let you create a .scr or .exe file. The executable will create a fully installable screensaver. The .scr files will have to be installed manually by you or your users. If you create a .exe file, you will be able to select an about text file and readme text file for the installation program.

Note! The fields for the About and Readme files must ALWAYS be specified and have a valid file location. Otherwise your screensaver files will be invalid.

Important! Scr files are today often used to distribute viruses. Make sure that you don't have any viruses in your system before distributing such a file, since it may infect other computers. We also recommend that you check with your users before distributing such a file to them by e-mail. They may mistake them for a virus. We will not hold responsibility on how this feature is used.
